Fit Friday with Nichole
May is a busy month for so many of us. Not only is it Mother’s day it is also the end of school, double the holiday feel for my house. I am ready to enjoy the warm evenings without worrying about bedtimes and alarm clocks in the morning.
I am ready to have more time to take my kids on adventures and exploring. The mountains are slowly melting, drying out, and inviting us up. Let’s embrace it and talk about getting those littles out.
Two of my kids have been asking about hiking since Easter, asking when we get to go and where. I love driving down the street and hear my 7 year old say “I could hike that” as we pass by mountains and hills. It has been a slow process, but we are getting to a point where I can start taking my 10 year old on “mom’s hikes.”
A couple of years ago I quit asking, “Who wants to go hiking?” and started asking, “Who wants to go explore with me?” That simple adjustment helped set the tone for wherever we decided to head.
That was followed up with a few more adjustments (lots of snacks) and exploring became a favorite for more than just me.
