Hot Chocolate Peppermint Brownies are adapted from my Gram’s brownie recipe. . . I have to say I think she would be very proud of this creation! It’s like chocolate heaven times a thousand! I’m mean, it just doesn’t get much better than cocoa with hot chocolate powder AND then top it off with the magical hint of Mother E PEPPERMINT essential oil!
Oh my goodness. It’s just dreamy.
While we’re at it, we can not forget to talk about the Hot Chocolate Frosting!! It’s a traditional buttercream frosting with dry hot chocolate powdered mix and drops of Mother E Peppermint oil added in~ completely decadent and creamy-smooth. I’m totally not ashamed to say that I licked the bowl clean 🙂

Use peppermint essential oil aromatically, topically, internally and for household; this is one of the “power-house” oils with a myriad of uses.
- Reduce the urge to snack by rubbing 2 drops of Peppermint in palms then inhale deeply.
- Greet the morning with an exhilarating body splash made from two cups of fizzy water, two drops of Peppermint, one drop of Eucalyptus and one drop of lemon. Combine and pour over body after washing.
- Enhance mental clarity and soothe hot flashes by applying 1 drop of Peppermint to temples and back of neck. Be mindful of not rubbing too close to eyes.
- Combine one drop of Peppermint oil with one drop of Lemon oil in water for an invigorating mouth rinse.

- 8 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 14 tablespoons butter, room temperature (2 tablespoons less than 1 cup)
- 4 eggs, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 6 drops MOTHER E Peppermint essential oil
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup dry hot chocolate powdered mix
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Hot Chocolate Peppermint Frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup dry hot cocoa powdered mix
- 3-4 tablespoons milk
- 7-8 drops MOTHER E Peppermint essential oil, adjust according to taste
- garnish with pearls and sugar sprinkles, if desired
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Coat a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray; set aside.
- Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over medium high heat, whisk in cocoa powder until combined; set aside.
- In a mixing bowl beat eggs, add sugar and mix on medium high until light and fluffy (approx 5 minutes)
- Add vanilla and MOTHER E peppermint essential oil drops.
- Slowly drizzle in (while mixing on low) cocoa mixture; mix until combined.
- Add flour half at a time; mixing with each addition.
- Add hot chocolate powdered mix and salt; mix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick in the center removes clean.
- Allow to cool completely before frosting.
- Hot Chocolate Peppermint Frosting:
- In a large mixing bowl cream butter.
- Alternate adding 1 cup powdered sugar and milk; mixing between.
- Add dry hot cocoa powdered mix; mix.
- Add drops of MOTHER E Peppermint essential oil.
- Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before frosting, mix one minute more.
- Frost cooled brownies and garnish with sprinkles, if desired.
- Slice and Enjoy!
