Why we love Blueberry Lime Cocktail Recipe

The one fun trick to our lovely Blueberry Lime Cocktails is that the blueberries are frozen to keep the beverage cool during the hot, hot, hot summer evenings.

It’s even more awesome because they’re fun to eat too. . . just like a little frozen treat at the end that don’t water down the flavor like ice cubes do!

Chef Tips & Tricks for selecting Party Beverages

  • Picking beverages for your gathering can be fun but daunting at times!
  • I like to have a selection of red and white wines, non-alcoholic sparkling beverages, sparkling water with lemon or limes, and a festive mixed beverage as an option too.
  • If younger children are going to be a part of the event then I’ll make sure to have juice or soda and non-breakable glasses on hand.
  • A garnish bar adds a fun twist: sprigs of rosemary, mint leaves, cinnamon sticks, fresh orange peel twists, lemon & lime wedges.
  • A good idea is to have some permanent markers handy for everyone to mark their glasses– no worries the marker washes right off with hot water and soap!
  • All your guests easily remember a personalized glass they’ve created plus it keeps sanitation in mind too! Germ sharing is not what anyone ever wants! 🙂

Fit Friday with Nichole

The love of my life has often followed my own heart out on the trails and in the glorious mountains that surround us. We have had adventures climbing Kingspeak, Mount Timpanogos, exploring Moab, etc. But we also own two businesses and have four kids, his love for the trails tends to get pushed behind other priorities and lost.

This summer he has decided to get back out with me…..and it makes me so happy!

As we get back out on the trails I am reminded of the secondary work that must come with trail running; the strength building to keep everything in check and injury free and the stretching work to ensure that we are again striving to stay injury free.

This week I want to focus on some of the stretches that I have found are helpful to keep you moving. There are four main muscle groups that I like to focus on with trail running; quadriceps, calves, hamstrings, and hips. I have gotten asked about low back, but I have found for most people their low back is getting tight because they need to stretch their hips.

I am awful about stretching, that is actually one of the good things about my husband joining me, he will not get into the car until he has had a couple minutes to stretch things out. He also reminds me to take a minute (or a couple miles) to warm up.

These are a few of my favorite stretches, understanding that there are a ton of stretches out there. Just remember, the goal is to be able to get out and enjoy for all your years.
