I’m SO excited to introduce you to Jenny from The NY Melrose Place Family … She’s a blogging friend of mine who’s also a member of our Contributor Team! SO without further adieu, we’ll let Jenny take it away 🙂
Hi all! I’m so excited to be here. I have a fabulous tutorial that are sure to hit the heart strings of whomever you create this gorgeous Heart Map for, whether it’s an engagement, anniversary, or Valentine’s Day gift.
I believe that a handmade gift is always so much better than a store bought gift and the success of my Bridal Shower Candle Poem Basket is definitely proof of that.

There are very few supplies for this project.
They are: natural scrapbook paper for maps, heart stencil (self made), white scrapbook paper, glue stick, scrapbook string of adhesive pearls and an 8 x 10 picture frame.
You’ll need to start out by finding maps of the towns that the couple are both from. I simply googled the couple’s hometowns and found suitable maps. Before printing on the natural paper that I chose for this project, I printed out a copy to make sure that the colors would work on regular paper. I hand drew a heart on this print out to use as a stencil.
I printed the maps of the hometowns on natural scrapbook paper and used my stencil to cut out halves of a heart from each map. The stencil worked perfectly because I just needed to piece the heart together like a puzzle.
I pasted the pieces of the heart onto white card stock and left enough room between the heart halves for the string of pearls on an adhesive strip.
The final step was to add the names of the couple under their hometowns.
The couple text me the next day to personally thank me for their gift, which to me meant success!
