Holiday fun with Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer Recipe
My favorite thing about Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer is that they are a great treat to get the whole family involved in! Your kids will love creating their own Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer!
With only a handful of supplies, you can easily make this happen for your next family activity!
Ingredients in Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer Recipe
For our Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer, we used Frosted Mini Wheats (of course) and the rest of the supplies are available in the baking section!
We decided to use Frosted Mini Wheats because it is a family favorite cereal around our house! We wanted to switch it up and create a new Christmas treat to give out to your friends and neighbors this year!
- Mini Pretezel Twists
- Frosted Mini Wheats
- Milk chocolate chips
- Red sugar pearls
- Candy eyes
- Edible metallic shimmer spray white pearl, (optional)
So if you can’t tell by the pics… Carter is more than pleased with his Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer. He devoured them! He loved to eat the eyes off of the reindeer first and then the antlers and so forth. 🙂 hahah he had me laughing!!
Carter was also super happy to eat the un-used parts of the pretzels as I baked (thank you, pretzels, for sacrificing yourself for cute antlers)!
Step by Step Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer Recipe
Here is an easy step by step for you to refer to as you make your own Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer! The recipe below plus these pics will be a great guide for you!
How to make Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer Recipe
- Melt chocolate chips over low heat. Stir while heating. Remove from heat when all of the chocolate is melted. Set aside.
- While chocolate is cooling, prep your pretzel antlers. Break off the 3 round edges of the pretzel, leaving the middle piece. Shape remaining piece of pretzel to desired look. Repeat to all the pretzels you will be using.
- When chocolate is cool and still in liquid form, dip the two ends of the antlers into the chocolate and set side by side on the parchment paper. Using a toothpick, add a little chocolate in the middle of the pretzels to connect them.
- Using the toothpick, place a thick line of chocolate across the top of the back of the frosted mini wheat. Place the frosted mini wheat on top of the pretzels connecting the chocolate on the antlers to the chocolate on the back of the frosted mini wheat.
- Spray lightly with edible metallic shimmer spray white pearl (optional step).
- Using the toothpick, dab chocolate on the back of the candy eyes, placing one at a time.
- Using tweezers (I used tweezers) or your fingers, dip the back of the red sugar pearl in chocolate and place on the frosted mini wheat.
- Allow for chocolate to harden for 2-3 hours.
- Remove your Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer from the parchment paper and enjoy!!!
Santa loves Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer Recipe too
I was also thinking… how cute would it be to switch out the typical Christmas cookies for Frosted Mini Wheat Reindeer? I don’t think Santa would mind finding these babies with a glass of milk next to the tree!
After all, he does love his reindeer (especially Rudolph)!!! 🙂 And if I were Santa, I’d most definitely want some variety in my dessert eating as I deliver gifts all night long. 😉
