Getting back into the swing of a new school year can be a little tricky for the whole family sometimes… it seems like none of us is really ever ready for it to come around!
When my kiddos were little I relied on these awesome tips to get us back into the groove of the new school year:
~ Begin your Back to School schedule about a week before school starts; this helps kids get back in the swing of an “early to bed/early to rise” schedule again.
~ Help each child pick out & lay out their 1st day of school outfit; this avoids the panic attack with trying to find things in the morning
~ Wake up a few minutes earlier just in case something happens that you don’t expect; there’s nothing worse than for them to be the “late kid” on the first day of school.
~ Help your kids eat a delicious breakfast; we all know it’s the most important meal of the day. It’s great to have a quick and easy option like
Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwiches to grab on the hectic mornings…
Then they’re all full and happy until lunch time!
~ Remember to snap some First Day of School pictures! The time goes SO fast and it’s a lot of fun to look back at all those years of pictures with my kids standing together with their backpacks on!
~ Encourage, support, and MOST of all let them know how much you love them!
~ Remind them of their “how to get home from school plan” so, they’ll know what to do and won’t be worried.
~ AND try not to shed a back-to-school-my-kids-are-another-year-older tear UNTIL they’re are safely tucked away in their classrooms.
Now that my kids are older- back to school still comes way too quickly and more of the responsibility falls on their shoulders but having quick meal solutions is still falls in my court!
We all know how hungry our kids are when they get home after school so that’s when State Fair® Classic Corn Dogs really come in handy…
My son Jake is getting all grown up, but let me tell ya- he’s loved State Fair® Classic Corn Dogs all of his life! His 16 year old self can eat half a box in one sitting now but then again I guess that’s a normal teenage boy thing, right?!
Jake and I had a fun time shopping at Walmart for our back to school supplies and of course having quick meal solutions on hand for Jake is one of the most important parts of being “ready” for school…
I hope these Tips and Tricks for Back to School are helpful ideas for making getting back into the swing a little smoother!
Much Love and Peace~
