DIY Fall Flower Pots
DIY Fall Flower Pots is part of my fall inspired front porch display. I love flowers but when my spring planted flower pots start looking a little haggard… it’s time to switch them out for a little touch of fall!
I don’t like to “really” plant my mums in our decorative front porch pots because it won’t be very long until winter. Once it gets too cold I’ll really plant them somewhere out in the flower beds so, they can come back next year 🙂 In order to cover up their not so pretty plastic containers, I bought 1 1/2 yards of white burlap (which is super inexpensive) and grabbed a spool of ribbon at the dollar store.
For my 20 inch pot I cut a 2 ft square piece out of the burlap (it doesn’t need to be exact) and used about 2 yards of ribbon (with the bow) to tie around the burlap with the pot inside , it’s an awesome NO-sewing-required way to spruce up the store bought containers 🙂
I made the burlap square a little smaller and basically did the same thing with the 4 inch square pot…
I think they’re SO adorable… the best part about burlap is that it’s very porous and water can easily drain through it!
I set the larger burlap covered pot in our empty decorative pots by the front door… it’s perfect because the burlap over hang covers up all the ugly dirt!!
I found a large variety of shapes and sizes of pumpkins at the vegetable stand that I added to our front porch to make it nice and festive for the Fall Season!
Later in the week I’ll share with all of you how I made my Dollar Store front door wreath that’s NO-sew too 🙂
I hope these DIY Fall Flower Pots give you a little spark of imagination for your front porches…
Happy Fall and Happy Gardening too!
Love,
Ruthie
