This weeks Kitchen Tip is How to melt and dip Chocolate

Dipping Chocolate

1 C milk chocolate chips

1 tsp canola oil

wax paper

Combine in a microwave safe bowl, microwave on high for 30 seconds; mix well.  Microwave 15 seconds; mix well.  Repeat a third time if necessary until chocolate is a smooth and thin consistency.  Dip item into chocolate, place on wax paper to cool.  If you don’t use all the chocolate in one sitting; cover with saran wrap and remelt the next time you need to dip- it’s best to use within a few weeks so the chocolate stays fresh tasting. Enjoy!

  5. Thank you Ruthie for doing this!! I’ve never heard of adding oil when melting chocolate, so maybe thats my easy fix answer!! Thanks again!

thank you Ruthie – very very helpful! I always have trouble dipping, especially pretzels!! Seems like it just glombs on to the pretzel, and then when I put it on the paper it just rolls off!! I’ll have to try your method. Thanks again!

    • Ruthie says:

Oh good… so glad to be helpful. It’s worked just fine for me with pretzel dipping and what a delicious way to eat pretzels 🙂 xoxo~ Ruthie
