Why we love Truvia Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

When I was young, I loved to play in the snow. My sister and I would play for hours making snowmen, snow forts, and having snow ball fights! The best part was coming inside to get warm with a mug of Hot Chocolate and fresh from the oven Chocolate Chip Cookies!

When my kiddos were little we’d have to make deals about how many times they could come in and out during snowman building. It seemed we’d just get them bundled up and then they’d be back inside and then outside. . . and go on for hours.  So the deal was, I’d make cookies if they’d play outside until the first batch came out of the oven!

Making them with the new Truvia Brown Sugar Baking Blend is an added bonus… same great flavor without all the calories of “normal” sugars! YAY!

Helpful baking tips for higher elevations:

  • If you live 3,000 feet above sea level or more it is considered high elevation and may take longer to cook/bake.
  • Adjustments are needed for 5000+ feet and above:
  • Reduce baking powder: for each teaspoon, decrease 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon.
  • Reduce sugar: for each cup, decrease 2 tablespoons.
  • Increase liquid: for each cup, add 2 to 4 tablespoons.
  • Increase oven temperature by 25 degrees F.
  • Check if it is done a little early.
  • This takes some trial and error to get it right for you.
