I’ve always wanted to try making my own Vanilla… I mean, the good stuff is kinda spendy, right? SO, I’d figured that by making my own it’d be better tasting and less expensive but how?
I was recently introduced to a company called Beanilla … they have all of your homemade vanilla making needs in one easy to order place!
I had no idea that there were so many varieties of Vanilla Beans and that each one has it’s own flavor profile! OH my gosh. My foodie mind went wild with delicious recipe creations 🙂 Check out all of these…
Madagascar Bourbon – creamy/strong/full/rich
Tahitian – cherries/floral/fruity/sweet
Mexican – complex/bold/smoky/dark
Tonga – fig/raisin/wine/tones of wood
Ugandan – strong/creamy/tones of chocolate/rich
Organic Indian – rummy/earthy/woody/sweet
Indonesian – floral / sweet / delicate / tones of fruit
Then check out all the amazing Beanilla Bottles to make it in!
I fell in love with this Tall Square 8.5 oz Glass Bottle from Beanilla, I just think they are so adorable!
Once you receive your vanilla beans and bottles all you have to do is pick up an alcohol base… I wanted to try a couple of different combinations so I made two bottles with Russell’s Reserve Bourbon and two with Finlandia Vodka.
Place 4-5 vanilla beans in each bottle and then fill with alcohol base up to the neck of the bottle. I split my vanilla beans in half so more vanilla flavor could be extracted plus, I don’t mind if I see any of the vanilla seeds in my products. Want to learn how to split vanilla beans? Check out this video…
Oh my. It’s amazing and so flavorful! I think they’d make adorable gifts with some rafia and a label (both of which I bought at Wal-mart).
Enjoy making your very own Beanilla Homemade Vanilla~ it’s so simple to do and waayyyy cheaper than buying it at the store!
Much Love and Peace~
