Merry Christmas Welcome to our Home!
Welcome into our home… We love Christmas around here! I especially love Christmas music~ I get told I start listening to it much too early BUT… I say this magical time only comes once a year so the earlier the better 🙂
This is our entry table with my favorite Nativity Scene on it. (AND unfortunately that poor clock of mine always says :30– I’m afraid it didn’t fare well through all the moves it’s been through over the years! It’s on the ‘get-to-it-someday’ list… you all have those too, right?!)
I bought the Nativity Scene at store called Tai Pan Trading several years ago and this year I added the burlap square with frayed edges for it to sit on. The sign was made years ago also~ my good friend Shelby made it for me and she also made the tile on the mantle in the photo below too. I love them both 🙂
Next, is our Mantle… I’m traditionally pretty clean and simple in my decorating (as you can tell). This is where the children’s stocking hang and a few pieces that have been collected over the years adorn the mantle.
Now, this part of Christmas Decorating I must confess is NOT my favorite part…and just maybe one year I thought I might could get away without getting this lovely but dreadful village out! I was declared a Scrooge and got Bah-Hum-Bugged until this village made it’s appearance 🙂
I’ve saved the most festive for last, our Christmas Tree…
Once again decorated pretty but simple. I bought the decorative balls at Tai Pan Trading along with the woven tree skirt. The gold beads I’ve had for years but, the spiral striped hangers are a new addition this year- they came from Big Lots 🙂
Christmas with all it’s magical moments are wonderful but the most memorable part of Christmas decorating for me is enjoying each piece that I’ve bought over the years or family and friends have given me. I think of the memories of Christmases before that each decoration reminds me of AND now that our kids are growing up and starting to leave home, they mean even more to me.
I hope each and everyone of you have a wonderful Holiday Season and if all your loved ones can’t be near this Christmas remember what this sign says… ‘Hearts Come Home for Christmas’!
Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!
Love,
Ruthie
