Freezer Plum Raspberry Jam

This is only the second year I have made this recipe.  I love it and since we have a plum tree, I LOVE it even more.  Now,  I know what to do with all the plums!!  I finally just made this jam a few days ago… my plum tree sat in the garage fridge waiting for me to get to it for at least a week.  Luckily those little plums are pretty forgiving!
Freezer Plum Raspberry Jam and Artisan Bread (Aug 21st post)

Freezer plum raspberry jam  

4 C plum pulp; remove seed, place in blender, pulse until small pieces
5 C sugar
1 package (12 oz ) frozen raspberries
Combine in a stock pot and bring to a rolling boil.  Cook 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat. Add:
1 package (4 oz ) raspberry jello

Stir in, pour into freezer containers. Let cool to room temperature. Keep frozen.

I begged this recipe of my friend, Andrea… we gave her plums one year and she brought us back this amazing jam!!  Since then we’re loving it : ) 

Ingredients

Combine sugar, plums, raspberries
Bring to a rolling boil, stir constantly… foam will boil off
Turn off heat, add raspberry jello packet and stir
Pour into freezer containers, let cool, keep frozen

Additional Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 cup plum pulp; remove seed, place in blender, pulse until small pieces
  • 5 cup sugar
  • 1 package, 12 ounces frozen raspberries
  • 1 package, 4 ounces raspberry jello

Instructions

  1. Combine in a stock pot first 3 ingredients and bring to a rolling boil.
  2. Cook 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add raspberry jello
  5. Stir in, pour into freezer containers.
  6. Let cool to room temperature.
  7. Keep frozen.
