Mason Jar Lemon Centerpieces

Jenny from The NY Melrose Family is here with us today to share an adorable summer centerpiece that will perfect for your next get together!

I’m so glad Jenny comes to share with us each month!  She has always got such creative and fun ideas to share.  I’ll let her take it from here…

We recently celebrated my 11 week old daughter’s baptism with family and friends. The service was beautiful and my party planning came together perfectly largely due to my Party Planning Guide. My Baptismal Party Decor centered around pink and burlap so I wanted something natural for my centerpieces.  I created Mason Jar Lemon Centerpieces that were simple, yet elegant.

I had to keep my color scheme consistent so I couldn’t just use plain old lemons. I decided to dye them pink. I used pink dye that would usually be used on cloth. My toddler assistant helped me with the lemons. We let them sit overnight in the dye and then flipped them the next day and had them sit for another twenty-four hours. For the placement of the lemons within the mason jars, I placed a shot glass in the center and maneuvered the lemon slices along the sides. The thickness of the lemons is crucial because it needs to be thick enough to hold the lemon in place against the mason jar.

I filled the shot glass with a little bit of water and placed white daisies in the center. The daisies were the perfect flower for these centerpieces because of their thin stems that came in bunches. I love how simple these centerpieces came out.
