Ingredients

  • 4 bosc pears
  • 2 cups red wine, merlot or bordeaux or grape juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 2/3 cup honey plus 2 tablespoons for garnish
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cups fat-free greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest, divided

Instructions

  1. Peel pears, remove core, slice each pear into 6 sections.
  2. In medium sauce pan, combine wine, water, cinnamon stick, 2/3 C honey.
  3. Bring to simmer over medium-low, add pears.
  4. Partially cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove pears to separate bowl, continue simmering liquid for 15-18 minutes more or until 75% reduced.
  6. Pour sauce over pears, refriderate until serving.
  7. Serve 4 pear slices with 1/4 C yogurt, drizzle of honey, and orange zest.
  8. Enjoy!
