Apple Butter

Ingredients

  • quarter 2 pounds of apples {do not core or peel }
  • Combine with 2 cups of apple cider

Instructions

  1. In a large pot boil, reduce the heat, and simmer on low for 30 minutes
  2. press the apples {they should be very soft at this point} through a fine sieve to remove the core, peel, and seed parts, and return to pot
  3. bring the purée back to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for about 2 hours.
  4. {make sure to stir occasionally to keep the apples from burning}
