Welcome to the fresh new look of Cooking with Ruthie!
There’s been a bit of tiding up going on around this little space… now it’s faster, cleaner, and leaner (or something like that.)
Today, we’re part of a Getting to Know blog hop and it’s a fun way for you to get to know me and some of my fellow contributors over at Or so she says…
What inspired you to start your blog (or shop?)
I grew up in the kitchen cooking with my Mom and Gram. From both of them, I developed a love of cooking and of sharing recipes. Gram had a cooking show in the 60’s which inspired my blog, it’s been wonderful to carry on a piece of her legacy.
What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about blogging?
I love the food photography- I didn’t think I would develope a love for it as much as I have. My least favorite part of blogging?? Hmmm… I guess it would be entering an actual recipes into a post; I have to reread them several times and I still make a ton of mistakes! UGH. *luckily I get clued by a reader pretty quickly and fix it
Tell me with only 20 words, 20 things you love.
God, Kiddos, Family, Food, Gardening, Running, Cooking, Friends, Yoga, Baking, Photography, Traveling, Culinary School, Blogging, Pinteresting, Organizing, Green Smoothies, Dessert
What is the one recipe you are most often asked to share? Please share it with us!
Lately this delicious Homemade Strawberry Pie has been super popular
5 favorite beauty products, right now… what are they?
Burts Bees Champagne Shimmer, Tarte Mascara from Sephora, Sephora Retactable Eyeliner, Awapuhi Sea Spray from Paul Mitchell, Hair Care line from Doterra Essential Oils.
What’s your personal mantra(s)? Something you tell yourself on a regular basis?
I AM enough, this post is pretty spot-on
What movie made you laugh more than any other?
Meet the Parents- an oldie but such a goodie 🙂
If you could recommend one family vacation, what would it be?
It’s hard to beat Disneyland for lots of family fun!
What goals are you currently working on?
Updating the blog (which rolled out today!! YAY.) , get better organized before I start back into Culinary School, find true balance in my life and maintain it.
Please share links to 3 blog posts (or items from your shop) that are special to you (or favorites of yours), and explain why.
Classic Angel Flake Cake, Little Miss Gabby and I had so much fun making this cake together plus it’s simple to make and SO tasty!
Mothers’ Day 2014 , this post shares the love I have for my sweet kiddos and what being a mom means to me.
