My Culinary School Adventure

I’ve embarked on a new adventure!  Going back to school at 40 years old isn’t all THAT scary, especially when it’s to study the thing you love best… FOOD 🙂

A little over a week ago I began the Culinary Arts Program at UVU and so far it’s been a really great experience.

UVU culinary

First off, we aren’t allowed to wear any make-up at all!  Next, no fingernail polish, or acrylic fingernails or eyelash extensions or earrings, etc., etc… we are all Natural 🙂

Which makes it really easy to get out the door in the mornings.

The pictures above are of me (top center) and some of my fellow classmates, we are all in Chef John’s Cooking Skills class together.

Yesterday, we went to an event on the main campus for Dean’s Day.  My cooking friends were kind enough to pose so I could share some photos with you!

At the event our class prepared and sampled Pulled Pork Sliders with Slaw AND they were a yummy big hit…

(I’m on the right)

We’ve been learning all kinds of knife skills and sauces and all that too BUT, I’ll save that to share with you in next weeks post!

Thanks for joining me on My Culinary School Adventure…

Happy Thursday and Happy Cooking
