Creme de Mint Pie Recipe

Our Grasshopper Pie or Creme de Mint Pie Recipe is the pie I grew up on–it’s simple to make with no baking required! Today’s cream de mint pie uses peppermint doTERRA essential oil…the fresh flavor adds the perfect wow factor! We make it even easier with the pre-made oreo pie crust or it’s fun to make from scratch too. Either way you can’t go wrong with this no-bake Creme de Menthe Pie!

Why we love Creme de Mint Pie Recipe

As a kid, I looked forward to this time of year for one reason and one reason only! My Grams Grasshopper Pie, otherwise known as Creme de Mint Pie!

Every year when we’d go to Gram’s house for holiday dinners, I would ask her how many pies she’d made.  It was always a variety of pecan, pumpkin, fruit, AND the famous Grasshopper Pie. She always had at least 4 of them tucked away in her freezer AND with 26 grand kids, you’d have to!

doTERRA Peppermint Essential Oil + Creme de Mint Pie Recipe

We’re excited to be partnering with doTERRA essential oils to bring you this recipe creation. For over a decade, I’ve loved to cook and bake with doTERRA essential oils. It’s all because of this recipe, actually!

Necessity is the mother of creation–back in 2009 our Creme de Mint Pie Recipe was the first recipe I used doTERRA essential oils in. Simply because it was the eve before a holiday gathering and I was out of peppermint extract… AND I didn’t want to go to the store one. more. time!

So, I grabbed my doTERRA peppermint essential oil and haven’t bought baking extracts since!! True story.

Iā€™m curious about whether to use a store bought Oreo crust and make a home made one to put on top?The recipe is confusing there.

    • Ruthie says:

Okay… I’ll take a look at it. Please reference the photo’s and see that there is one crust and it is the bottom. You can either make an oreo crust or buy one. I hope you love it like we do! xoxo~ Ruthie

Hi Wendy, I use the big ones… I’ll fix the recipe so it says that, although I am not so sure it matters since they’re melted but that’s what my gram used every time so it must be better šŸ™‚ JK. Happiest of Holidays!! xoxo~ Ruthie
