4th of July Pudding Pops

We’re in the kitchen with Jen from Bakerette today!

AND she’s sharing this fun summer 4th of July Pudding Pops with us today!

I’ll let Jen take it from here…

Hellooooo WCWR fans! It’s Jen from Bakerette and I’m excited to share with you a fun and festive recipe.

Remember those days of Bill Cosby and Jell-O pudding pops? Bill was their spokesperson. I was sad when Jell-O discontinued making pudding pops. Waaah.

But to my luck, they were reintroduced into the world in 2004 and are now affectionately sold under the Popsicle brand name.

These 4th of July pudding pops are so fun and festive, not to mention delicious! They taste just like the original Jell-O Pudding Pops. Why not make a few for your 4th of July festivities? They are so easy to make. All you need is instant pudding, milk, food coloring, Popsicle molds, and Popsicle sticks.

Make the pudding per packaged instructions and separate into 3 separate bowls adding in the desired amount of food coloring.

Pour the pudding into 3 separate baggies and snip the corners of the bags so you can pipe the pudding into the Popsicle molds. Start with the red, then the white, and lastly the blue.

Ingredients

  • 3.3 ounce package Instant White Chocolate Jell-o Pudding
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • Red and blue food coloring
  • Popsicle Mold
  • 5 popsicle sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding mix per packaged directions using the milk.
  2. Divide evenly into three separate bowls. Mix one bowl with red food coloring and another with blue food coloring, leaving the third plain.
  3. Pour each bowl of pudding into a separate baggy and snip off the corner of the baggy.
  4. Beginning with the red pudding, pipe it evenly into five Popsicle molds making sure not to get the pudding on the sides of the mold as you pipe it in. Shake and tap the mold to smooth out the layer. Repeat with the white pudding, then the blue pudding.
  5. Place in the freezer for 2-3 hours or overnight. When ready to eat, place the mold in a sink of hot water until the pudding pops easily remove.
  6. Wrap them individually in wax paper and stack in the freezer or eat right away!

Make sure you use white chocolate pudding… we had vanilla and I didn’t read carefully… middle layer is a little yellow and it took a TON of food coloring to get it red and blue (more like pink and green at first)– turned out in the end but was wishing I read more carefully, lol. 🙂
