Avocado Havarti Grilled Cheese is just about the yummiest little concoction I’ve come up with yet

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 slices whole grain bread, I used squaw bread
  • 1/2 an avocado, mashed
  • 1 slice havarti cheese
  • 1 tablespoon light mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Basil Gourmet Garden Herbs
  • 1 teaspoon butter

Instructions

  1. Combine mayonnaise and basil in a small bowl.
  2. Place one slice of bread on flat surface.
  3. Layer cheese and spread avocado evenly on top.
  4. Spread mayonnaise mixture on the second slice of bread.
  5. Place mayo side down onto avocado.
  6. Lightly spread butter on the outsides the sandwich.
  7. Preheat a small frying pan sprayed with cooking spray, lightly grill each side of sandwich being careful not to over cook.
  8. Cut and enjoy!

Have you heard of Havarti Cheese?  Oh.my.goodness.  You MUST give it a try!  It’s just about the best cheese out there for sandwiches- our family loves it.

    Okay so im a southern girl from Kentucky who moved to the heat of Florida. The family I got likes there grease and honestly with how hot it gets i dont like it. they had no basil so i used Rosemarie and garlic then i boiled a egg and squished it on there as well and took out the cheese. did every thing else the same. and now the grease eating family looks to me when its to hot to eat 🙂 thanks for the recipe help
